Wayne was lured into the world of automotive restoration by a
childhood interest in the design and construction of medieval armour.
Fueled by the thirst for metalworking knowledge, Wayne took a job as
an entry-level welder. Welding turned into fabrication, followed by
metal stamping; then die design and construction, machine tool, and
blacksmithing.
Wayne’s training has been acquired on the job, supplemented by night
classes, personal studies, and tracking down and befriending the
“quiet masters” of the art. The combination of Wayne’s metalworking
skills, fascination with the unique and rare, and love of history
and high quality craftsmanship led him to the L-Cars Corporation
where he works in a shop full of highly skilled professionals
surrounded by the craftsmanship of old world masters and "tons of
shapely sheet metal."
